Shooting Bigfoot

Sorry I'm late to the party, but it's a party I wouldn't miss. I periodically check my email while I'm working, just to make sure I haven't missed any breaking news. A regular reader of Bigfoot Tracker News sent me a link, and it turned out to be a great one.

90 minutes | UK  | English  | World Premiere

“I don’t think an hour goes by in the day where I don’t think about Sasquatch,” divulges one aficionado. So begins Morgan Matthews’ rollicking foray into the obsessive, hoax-filled cult of Sasquatch. Using the in-the-trenches style of The Blair Witch Project, the film allows us to accompany the adventures of three Sasquatch search parties: socially awkward “master tracker” Ric Dyer; crotchety old guys Dallas and Wayne; and Tom Biscotti, perhaps the most devoted of the bunch, who has hunted Sasquatch unabatedly for 37 years. The teams tramp through the wooded unknown with tracking equipment and ample conviction in hand, the bipedal ape-like creature they seek seemingly just around every bend. As truth and fact tip into malarkey, nighttime hunts devolve into farcical displays of voodoo and comic stretches of the human imagination. A humorous look at perception gone off the rails, Shooting Bigfoot is a no-holds-barred plummet into folkloric lunacy. Justin Mah

Hot Docs

It was only a matter of time before the truth started to emerge from the shadows, and it looks like the day is drawing near. 'Shooting Bigfoot' will be shown in Canada on April 30, 2013. In Canada? You have no idea how happy that makes me.....well....maybe you do.
I will not be able to go to the screening, but I wish I could. I would love to be the first to report back on this documentary. For now, what we have, is the description of the film.
I'm perplexed (not really), I don't see any words that would indicate the discovery of the century. No enticing words like "enthralling", "EPIC", "mesmerizing" are used at all.
Instead we get the words "obsessive", "hoax-filled", "malarkey", and "lunacy".
What will all of Rick's "followers" say now? How will Rick explain this one away?

I visited Dyer's blog to see if he had already made a post on the topic. He did as a matter of fact and it was a lengthy copy and paste. It's interesting to note that out of his entire post, he only has this tidbit to offer his rabid fans:

"Bigfoot hunters finally get their day in the spotlight with Shooting Bigfoot."

After all of the hoopla and promises, he offers ONE line announcing this documentary. He provides no insights, nor does he offer any extra clues. He's virtually silent and doesn't even bother to post a link.
I thought this documentary was going to vindicate Rick. Somehow, judging from the description, I don't see that happening.
I don't know what else to tell everyone, but the person who sent me the link does. This is my favourite comment of the day:

"If ANYONE still sticks to the dead bigfoot story, I swear, I'm going to lose my shit."

I feel like having a Carlton moment.

  2. Dyer's has had his days in the spotlight for many months now. And he'll continue. The followers will continue. They have become a cult. I've never seen anything like it. It's crazy. They are all so entrenched in it. The type of character that would get behind RD and support him, encourage him, follow him, as vile and nasty as he is, says a whole lot about their integrity as human beings.

    1. It's exactly like a cult. Secretive. Devotion and adoration of someone who can do no wrong. Fierce protectiveness.

  3. Finally we can get rid of this stain on the BF community. So it's a movie about hoaxers and Rick and Musky tried to hoax us. Didn't work. Maybe 10 people believed them. I'm being generous. Fail!

    1. The sad thing is that most of the leaders of the BF community are themselves stains. If everyone took the same approach to all members, it might not be a laughing stock.

  4. What's this I read on FB/FB? Musky is an admin there? Looks like someone spilled the beans and then edited her post. Ha!

  5. But what is so dumbfounding, is that Dyer will have absolutely no qualms about being outed as a liar of epic proportions, yet again. He is truly a card carrying pathological liar.

  6. his koolaid drinkers are still holding fast.
You can't convince the brainwashed I suppose.
I like this quote from Abraham Lincoln: “I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.”

    1. It would be wiser not to get worked up about a creature that most likely doesn't exist.

  7. So question for you people.
If you blindly see this film. See how people are like in this film. The obsession they have with Bigfoot. Then all sudden there is a shooting of a Bigfoot in it.
Would you believe that the shooting actually happened in the film? The film to the person who may have seen it he saw it as a Mockumentary, he may not have believed the shooting was real.
This is not the official announcement from Minnow Films.
I would think that a body needs to be released and shown before this film fest. Then people will look at the film in a different light. If RD has the body then the write up is based off not knowing it or having seen the body.
I don't think Minnow will release the movie have people smirk and laugh then they say, ok here is the real body we actually have it it was actually shot. To say See you all are fools and you don't get it at all. I don't think Minnow would risk the reputation to pull a gotcha.
The changed it to "Shooting Bigfoot why did they do that?

  8. There is no body.

  9. The Tent Video appears to be the official trailer for "Shooting Bigfoot". By not only, not identifying it as the trailer but presenting it as Dyer did, it matches the marketing philosophy of the Blair Witch Project, but with a slight twist. That twist was using a moron and known liar to take present the video. Today, we read that Morgan Mathews filmed the entire video in the Blair Witch Style. If you recall, the Blair Witch Project had many scary scenes that came from inside a tent where only a limited view of the outside world was available. Which leads us right back the the Tent Video, which is a scary scene where a limited view of the outside world was available. So the whispering of Rick's name in the tent by supposedly the cameraman, was all ACTING! That acting is what the gullible newbie, Robert Lindsay fell for, hook, line and sinker. Since FB/FB destroyed evidence from the homeless video where the homeless person said there was no Bigfoot shot there, FB/FB has not been duped. FB/FB was doing the duping.
