FB/FB, Hot Docs & Minnow Films

It's finally nice to see that people are starting to talk, but really, nothing tangible is being said. The folks at Facebook Find Bigfoot issued an open letter today addressed to " those anticipating there is definitive biological evidence of a Bigfoot (a specimen) coming soon..." It's unfortunate this letter wasn't addressed to EVERYONE who has been following this seemingly endless saga since the beginning.
Whether you think Rick Dyer is "the real deal", or like me, you think this is a 100% hoax, most of us are awaiting the final outcome. This is the open letter FB/FB issued today on their fan page.

"An open letter to those anticipating there is definitive biological evidence of a Bigfoot (a specimen) coming soon and that Minnow Films captured 3 minutes of the closest and longest live action of a Bigfoot.

FBFB authenticated the famous
"Tent and camper" Video clips in September 2012 because it fit with the morphological profile created by the social network of researchers from 2009 to 2012. We have authenticated many videos and still Rank the Camper at #2. The film was taken by Rick Dyer, bad boy turned researcher. Some of the skeptics have been emboldened by a blurb regarding the Minnow Films "Shooting Bigfoot" debuting at Hot Docs in Toronto on 4/30/13. Our advice to skeptics don't get your hopes too high that FBFB and the Dyer story will fail.

The film runs 90 minutes with 3 minutes of historic Movie Quality footage of a live sasquatch eating ribs from a tree near the end of film. So at approximately 9:50pm EST on April 30th, the fate of FBFB and Bigfoot research will finally BEGIN to be decided.

We now find ourselves completely and totally behind not only Rick Dyer but our chief adversary for many years Skeptic "Musky Allen". We have purchased 24 tickets and will be there in there in force for this historic night. From now till that night we will continue our work at authenticating videos and featuring the best of bigfoot research and eyewitness interviews. We promise to shutter this page if we are proven to be wrong. BUT! If we are proven correct this site will be a historic record of the thousands of posts surrounding this event."

I have to give Jack and Jeff props for not wavering on their position even though I disagree with them. They have stood their ground and taken a pummeling yet they remain steadfast. Long time fans of the popular Facebook page have wondered why these two men would support a known hoaxer and liar, and the rest of us have wondered the same thing. I guess we'll find out after the screening on April 30/13.

Yesterday  I was browsing some of the forums and a few people suggested that the person providing the overview never saw the documentary. I have no idea how or why a person would come to this conclusion. That's akin to a film critic giving a film review without watching the movie. It just doesn't happen.
A person took the initiative and contacted Justin Mah. Justin was the person who gave the overview of 'Shooting Bigfoot':
“I don’t think an hour goes by in the day where I don’t think about Sasquatch,” divulges one aficionado. So begins Morgan Matthews’ rollicking foray into the obsessive, hoax-filled cult of Sasquatch. Using the in-the-trenches style of The Blair Witch Project, the film allows us to accompany the adventures of three Sasquatch search parties: socially awkward “master tracker” Ric Dyer; crotchety old guys Dallas and Wayne; and Tom Biscotti, perhaps the most devoted of the bunch, who has hunted Sasquatch unabatedly for 37 years. The teams tramp through the wooded unknown with tracking equipment and ample conviction in hand, the bipedal ape-like creature they seek seemingly just around every bend. As truth and fact tip into malarkey, nighttime hunts devolve into farcical displays of voodoo and comic stretches of the human imagination. A humorous look at perception gone off the rails, Shooting Bigfoot is a no-holds-barred plummet into folkloric lunacy. Justin Mah

This is what David Durret had to say via FB/FB;

"Unsolicited message to me (David Durett) from the Director of Programming at Hot Docs, sent at 8:06 p.m., several hours after I had thanked Justin and ended our exchange. His blurb didn't include a reference to "the last three minutes" because they are not commenting on it. (for those who don't get it, the last three minutes MUST be significant if they are choosing to officially not comment)"

Dear David,

Many thanks for getting in touch. Both Justin and I have seen the film in
full. We're not commenting on the last three minutes, we recommend that
you come and see the film.

Best wishes,
Charlotte

I have a few issues with what we are presented with.
"Unsolicited message" Exactly what does this mean? If Mr. Durret did not ask them the question himself, why is it he knows they are not commenting on the last 3 minutes of the documentary?
Perhaps this is why:

David goes on to add this, hinting in favour of the documentary showing an actual dead Bigfoot:
(for those who don't get it, the last three minutes MUST be significant if they are choosing to officially not comment)"
Why MUST this be significant? I actually do get it, and I think many others do as well. WHY would a person providing an overview of a film tell us the ending? I wonder who decided it was appropriate to ask that question in the first place.
When Roger Ebert gives us a movie review, does he tell us how the movie ends? The answer is NO. We must decide if we want to see a particular movie based off the information we are given.
The people at Hot Docs would be committing career suicide if they gave out information on the last 3 minutes of this documentary, or any other film.
If this is a documentary that could change the way we view ourselves, why is it  opening on a Tuesday? A film of this magnitude would command a Friday or Saturday evening showing, would it not?

Morgan Matthews of Minnow Films finally spoke up today and offered this:

STATEMENT
"We are aware there has been a lot of speculation about this documentary. We will not be releasing any further information about the film prior to its screening at Hot Docs in Canada at the end of April. However, we can confirm that it includes Rick Dyer, Tom Biscardi, Dallas and Wayne, and it contains some fairly dramatic scenes filmed in the woods."

This statement by Mr. Matthews is drier than a popcorn fart on a hot day and does nothing to quench the thirst of people wanting information. Even the last few words are a let down."some fairly dramatic scenes filmed in the woods."
So far, nothing I have read indicates we are about to embark on a journey of epic proportions.

  1. "I actually do get it, and I think many others do as well." This. I think what is so frustrating about this whole thing is the way FB/FB push this crap on intelligent people who have been following this and do have some reading comprehension and investigative skills as they think we are complete idiots. I have nothing emotionally invested in this, just observing and quite entertained. Yet the skeptics get called "haters" and accused of "attacking" Dyer. That's BS. Most have only pointed out the very conspicuous inconsistencies and lies that have been told so far. Now the kool-aid gang are on the war path and acting like immature bullies, calling names and making threats. All at Dyers direction. Sad to witness I must say.

    1. Unfortunately there are many people who don't think things through. I'm not a skeptic of Bigfoot, I'm a skeptic of Rick Dyer.
Threats have been made? Seriously, against who? See, once again people don't think about their actions. Dyer is the Jim Jones of Bigfooting in my opinion.

    2. Jim Jones with a dash of Charlie Manson. lol

    3. I think all the rhetoric from both sides is pretty sad. How much attention would Dyer or anyone else get if you ignored him? People are devoting good parts of their day to arguing on fb/fb.

    4. I agree with Anon 8:29. Ignore Rick Dyer and his supporters!

  2. This is pathetic. The movie is a mockumentary that will show the killing of a bigfoot (maybe) in the last 3 minutes. Koolaid drinkers are kool with that. Kool-aid drinkers think "fairly dramatic" means there's something mind-blowing because Brits tend to understate things. It's just unbelievable.

    1. Actually the statement was designed to give nothing away. Minnow films are content right now with letting things remain as they are. It must be an interesting position to be in. I am assuming that they have not had this amount of interest in one of there films before.

How one chooses to view something has a lot to do with preconceptions held previously.

  3. If Morgan Mathews had Dyer shooting a truck driver/actor in the back of the head in the last 3 minutes, what do you think that he would say? We'll for one thing, he would not be trying to imply that he has film of an actual Bigfoot being shot. Which is essentially what he ultimately came out with.

Other the other hand, if Morgan Mathews had video of an actual Bigfoot being shot, then he would be inviting scientists from across Canada, Canadian news media and other noted persons from around the world, to attend the opening for this mockumentary. Morgan is obviously not doing that nor anything else out of the ordinary, otherwise someone would have dug that up by now.

Furthermore, the film festival that chose not to show Mathews video, had to have seen it. If there was something significant like FB/FB states, then that film would have most certainly been shown in that film festival. Which it was not.

In the filming of non-war related fiction flics, directors take great pains to see that no animals nor people are killed. They often inform the viewer of that fact, either before or after the actions starts. I don't see anybody attempting to dampen potential public protest about this movie, before it is shown. In conclusion, there is no actual Bigfoot being shot in Shooting Bigfoot, in my opinion.

    1. Excellent point!! Tribeca people must have seen it and rejected it!! Why would they do that? Hmmmmm

    2. I'm not sure that it was even entered in Tribeca.

  4. what's the best way to get people to stay until the end,
"the last 3 minutes " TA DA! Their hoaxing you, in a hoax,
    Priceless !

  5. I think Minnow has an NDA with Dyer and would be violating it if they expose the hoax before the movie comes out. Dyer has leveraged this brilliantly and used it to lead many drinkers to his stand. What makes a person believe? Sometimes it is just the fact that others don't.

  6. Hahaha, Jackieeeeee got herself banned from BFF. She is not taking it well at all. That's what you get for promoting a HOAX.

  7. RL/RD just added a new layer of absurdity: Double teeth! The fairy tale is losing steam fast. Now RD just jumped on Kulls for a typo. I'm enjoying it finally.

    1. I'm not worried about the potter, or the other ones. Thanks for the advice though. I contacted the feds today and had a lengthy conversation with an officer. Names, websites etc. are now on record and Dyer has red flags all over his name. There is now a file in place.

    2. With Canada or the U.S.? As far as stalking goes, it seems that accusation gets thrown around quite a bit when ever there is online conflicts. That's not to say it doesn't happen, but unfortunately it's hard to prove.

  10. I don't believe Minnow would willingly film Dyer shooting anything, but they had to know he had the rifle with him. The only logical explanation is that the rifle was a prop for the hoax. If there had been a shooting we would all know and there would not be a movie.

Are they really saying it has double teeth? lmfao!

  11. Expecting people who run film festivals (hardcore film buffs) to give out spoilers to a movie is not a realistic expectation IMO.

    Don't you agree?
