Is this another Ebay scam? This is from 2010 and it looks like Ricky is trying to sell a BMW.The following are quotes from various individuals having a discussion about the BMW. The timeline of the discussion is in chronological order. This is the short read. If you have time, you're more than welcome to read the entire four page thread discussing this car.
I really felt bad for the potential buyer, what a waste of his time.
I would like to sincerely thank "Bo" for the heads up on this information. I could not have done it without him/her!

"It just SCREAMS fishy at me..
the $500 payment within 24hrs of auction close
$100+ paypal fees if paid by PayPal (to encourage the direct Bank Transfer)
but save $300 if you pick it up???
So if he picks it up, that means he's only going to pay $1800 for it???
I dunno.. its all odd to me.
But on the good side, at least it looks like he's getting what he's paying for.. if the car exists and he gets it.
I dont think $1800 is too high for what the car really is. I like the Red Interior... just not wild about that old ass automatic in it.
also...
check out the six sellers feedback.. check out the "Suburban" he sold and the buyer's feedback.. such a new buyer and then he's linked of buying some crap from some foreclosure BS..
THIS also screams to me some kinda scam going on.. like a fake feedback left for that sale..
and why is the seller from "Hong Kong"?"

"I called him Wednesday and we agreed to the deal taking place in San Antonio. Now, I am planning to pick up the car Tuesday April 20th.
The owners father was a military man and purchased the car from another GI; he supposedly owned the car from 1983 to 2006. The seller and I both assumed the car was a Euro model because of the Turbo. Clearly, that does not seem to be the case."
♠
"I would RUN!!!
not walk away from this purchase.
I think all the posts in here would validate my opinion to the fullest.
I've been around for awhile and I've seen many patterns for scams, I'm sure as heck not going to train one NOT to scam with what I know and I think I've done too much all in this thread alone."
♠
"The seller is Rick/Ochua Dyer. It might be a scam, but for the most part, everything is going well."
♠
"and if you dig into the feedback of the buyer/sellers for those and other cars they have bought/sold, you will find what might be sales to each other.."
♠
"The seller told me all the glass is perfect.
He does not believe the car was ever in an accident during his fathers possession.
The tires and brake pads were recently replaced, but he does not recall doing any other work.
I forgot to ask him if there were any leaks...
He says the interior of the car clearly shows the vehicle has only 67k miles."
♠
"The seller promises me I will also be lucky enough to see his running model A (or model T) which he recently acquired. (I cannot remember which one he said) Will take pics of both cars along with a handwritten and dated paper showing my user name .
♠
"That is a stretch. The most logical explanations at this point are:
A. The seller is trying to "embellish" his listing, or
B. The seller has no idea what he's talking about."
♠
"When I talked with him on the phone, he was very explicit saying the car is "faster than his 330i with an M3 engine"
♠
"The seller has had the car for sale on Craigslist, ebay, and Collector Car. Same information on all sites."
♠
"As has been said before; this does not even look like a pic from this car and the valve cover shown does not look like one found on these engines. To have a turbo, it should be very simple to provide a decent pic. If you asked; the seller should be able to provide one as well."
♠
"I'm not sure why you are so adamant about the seller being straight up with you about this car.. it's been listed FS SEVERAL times and you'd think EVEN with a damaged/failed turbo system that it would have sold by now for the price he's been asking."
♠
"I called the seller prior to leaving Austin and his phone went straight to voice message. The seller "Rick Dyer" aka Reyna Ochoa had left a message on his voice mail saying an "unfortunate emergency had occurred, and he would be out of town from April 20th to May 27th"! I called BS on that. We went ahead and drove to SA not expecting much, but we ended up finding plenty of good times and great spirited folks."
♠
"And here it is...the 633! I am thinking WOW, the car really exists!"

"Same looking place as the ebay auction, there is the Jaguar which was also listed for sale, and the Chevy!"

"But WAIT! The mileage says 87,000; not 67,000! Lousy description!"

"So number one question is.....where is the Turbo? And look at all that rust! There is also no battery in this car. I don't think it is "running" anywhere."

"Here is "Rick's" Suburban - the windows were rolled down, not sure he "Left town" - maybe Rick is the Chupacabra Man"

"So then, all of a sudden, this guy comes out from the adjacent home and starts trying to sell me the car.....says his name is "FRED". According to Fred, Rick moved out last night. Fred (much like the seller) also said "the car runs well", and he said "it only needs a restoration to be perfect"....LOL I told him the car was not a turbo like Rick described and I was not interested. We didn't hang out much longer...as this was not the car I came to see!"

"Odd that the Suburban was still there.. considering that he got positive feedback on April 2nd for the sale of it.. which tends to support my theory that he's running extra accounts and "buying" vehicles from himself to give himself positive feedback history."
